Idaho: Third-Party Access Security Code
Main page: Set up filing in Idaho
Why do I need this code to set up filing for Idaho?
TaxJar needs third party access to your Idaho Taxpayer Access Point (TAP) account to verify that we have all of the information we need to file your Idaho Sales Tax Returns.
Why can't I set up my Idaho filing if I don't have a valid third party access security code?
In order to ensure your returns are filed in time to meet the state's due date, we must have your valid security code to file by 5 pm ET on the last day of the month before your first requested return is due.
For security purposes, the code is sent in a postal letter that the state mails to the account owner's address on file. It can take up to 2 weeks to arrive after the state sends it out to you.
Expedite the process by calling the sate to receive the access code over the phone: Call Idaho DOR at 1-800-972-7660
- If you don't expect the access code to arrive before the enrollment deadline of the first return you want TaxJar to file for you (last day of the reporting period), call the Idaho DOR to receive the code verbally, over the phone.
- Be prepared to confirm your identity and necessary core business details like sales tax account number, FEIN/SSN, and registered business name.
Once you receive this code, navigate to your Idaho registration from your Tax Dashboard to use it to complete the enrollment.
I have a security code letter. How can I tell if it's the right one?
- Your 3rd party access letter will have a unique look, and will list the name TPS Unlimited. This letter will contain a security code specific to this request and will grant File & Pay access to TaxJar.
- The included authorization code will be long, case-sensitive, and unique.
