Alabama: Enable third-party access in your MAT account

To allow TaxJar to file and pay on your behalf, enable third-party access in your My Alabama Taxes (MAT) account.

1. Sign in to your My Alabama Taxes (MAT) account.
2. Select Manage My Profile.
3. Open the Other Actions tab.
4. Under Access Management, select Manage third-party access to my accounts.
5. Update the following settings:
   • Set Allowed to Yes.
   • Set Default Account Access to File & Pay.
6. Set a third-party password:
   • If you have not created one, select Set Third-Party Password and create a password.
   • If you have already created one, select Update Third-Party Password or enter your existing third-party password.

   Important: Enter this third-party password on your Alabama AutoFile enrollment form. It must be different from the password you use to sign in to MAT.

If you can’t find the third-party access settings

You may not have Full Access to the MAT account. Only a user with Full Access can enable third-party access.

To identify the appropriate user:

1. From the MAT homepage, select Other Actions.
2. Select View Access.
3. Find the user with Full Access listed next to their name.

Ask that user to complete the steps above.
