Pause a current filing
As explained here, you should review your TaxJar reports between the 1st and 6th of the month to ensure that they're accurate and complete.
If you find any issues with the current filing, you must immediately pause the return by following the steps below--before contacting support and no later than 6pm ET on the 6th of the month.
If you don't want TaxJar to file for you this month/quarter, you can request that those filings be temporarily skipped. NOTE: if you skip your filing, you will be responsible for filing and remitting the amount due to the state by the filing deadline.
If you need to permanently stop filing in a state, see this article.
How to request that a current filing be paused or skipped
- From the Manage Filings tab of your TaxJar filing dashboard, click Manage My Filings.
- Check the state filing(s) that you want to pause or skip.
- Select the appropriate reason for your request:
- If you need more time to review/add/edit data or prepare funds for payment, you can set a specific date and time for TaxJar to automatically resume your filing. Please note that this temporary pause cannot be extended.
- If you need TaxJar to delete transactions, provide a detailed description of the specific transactions to remove.
- If you don't want TaxJar to file for you this month, select the state that you want to skip and provide a reason for your request. Skip requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by the TaxJar team.
What happens next?
If you requested time to review/add/edit data or prepare funds:
- Your filing will automatically resume by the date and time you set.
If you requested data to be deleted:
- Our support team will inform you when the data has been removed and your filing has been resumed.
If you requested that a filing be skipped:
- You'll receive immediate confirmation that your request has been received and is now under review.
- A member of our support team will respond via email within 24 hours to let you know whether your skip request has been approved.
- Until you receive an approval email from the TaxJar team, assume that your return will be filed on time, as scheduled.
